Life is so full of temporary things. That’s why when we hope in things that are of this world, the hope only lasts for a short time. As we watch the news and see things like ISIS and other man-hating groups out there, it can be easy to give up hope. Tonight on the show, Jeff, DW, Jason and Terra Kay discuss how we can have an unending hope.

Purpose
What’s your purpose in life? Have you found it? Have you defined it? What are you living your life for? Your life has purpose.
“The Lord has made everything for his own purposes, even the wicked for a day of disaster.”
God made everything intentionally. He made you with purpose.
“When people’s lives please the lord , even their enemies are at peace with them.”
Passion
Passion is defined as “a strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for something or about doing something…” or “intense, driving, or overmastering feeling of conviction.” What gets you amped up? God has wired you a certain way with gifts and talents.
“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”
Position
This isn’t what office your title you hold. This is about what direction and positioning you have your feet pointed and planted. Success is often determined by how we set our feet. When we get out of position, we get beat. We get knocked down. But if your feet are set properly in the right direction, you have a greater chance at success.
“Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”
Perseverance
Perseverance is a tough word to chew. Its purpose is for the moments where you just want to throw in the towel.
“The highway of the upright turns aside from evil; whoever guards his way preserves his life.”

Life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness – what is it?
What things steal our happiness? How does sin affect it?
“There are 6 things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers” (Proverbs 6:16-19)
Here are 7 things we will all struggle with that steal our happiness:
- Lust – to have an intense desire or need: “But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart” (Matthew 5:28).
- Gluttony – excess in eating and drinking: “for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags” (Proverbs 23:21).
- Greed – excessive or reprehensible acquisitiveness: “Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more” (Ephesians 4:19).
- Laziness – disinclined to activity or exertion: not energetic or vigorous: “The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway” (Proverbs 15:19).
- Wrath – strong vengeful anger or indignation: “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger” (Proverbs 15:1)
- Envy – painful or resentful awareness of an advantage enjoyed by another joined with a desire to possess the same advantage: “Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation” (1 Peter 2:1-2).
- Pride – quality or state of being proud – inordinate self esteem: “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18).

It’s the reality that every living person has to accept at one point in life – death. Tonight, Terra Koslowski joins Jeff and Dave to talk about one of the topics few are willing to discuss for any length of time. Death is real. How should we talk about it? Is there any hope in the midst of all this pain?
